You've seen the ads. AI personal trainer. Free custom meal plan in 30 seconds. And it looks legitimate enough that women are trying it, following it, and then ending up at Get Sculpted because it didn't work.

Coaches Marilynn, Tijana, and Jordanna are talking about AI in fitness: where it helps, where it gets things dangerously wrong, and why no algorithm can do what a real coach does for women in their mid-30s and beyond.

The problem women run into with AI-generated fitness plans isn't that the output looks bad. It looks fine. Reasonable macros, a list of exercises, sets and reps. What it's missing is everything that makes a plan really work for a specific person: her injury history, hormonal picture, relationship with food, stress load, and the fact that she may have been yo-yo dieting for 15 years. AI works from generalizations, and for women that context is everything.

There's also a form problem that doesn't get talked about enough. Progressive overload logic, deload timing, movement compensations, hip shifts, muscle imbalances - these require a trained human eye. An AI workout program can tell you how many sets of planks to do. It cannot tell you that your toes are lifting or that your hips are compensating. That difference is what separates results from injury.

And then there's accountability, which an app simply cannot replicate. Women who've tried the self-guided route know this: you can close an app. You can ignore a notification. You cannot ghost a coach who already knows your patterns, knows what excuses you default to under stress, and knows the difference between "I'm fine" and actually being fine.

Here's what we cover:

  • What AI fitness coaching gets right and where it consistently falls short for women

  • Why a ChatGPT meal plan or AI workout program misses the mark for personalized nutrition and strength training

  • The specific gaps in AI-generated programming: progressive overload, periodization, and form correction

  • How the coaches at Get Sculpted use AI in their business, and what they deliberately keep human

  • Why accountability for women requires a real relationship, not a bot sending reminders

  • The behavior change piece that no algorithm reaches: identity, emotional eating, and stress eating patterns

  • Why women in perimenopause need hormone-friendly workout and nutrition strategies that account for what's actually happening in their bodies

  • What community does for women's fat loss that self-guided programs cannot

This episode is for the woman who has tried the free plan and hit a wall. For the one who followed something that looked right on paper and still couldn't get her body to respond. For anyone who suspects the missing piece isn't information, it's context.

"AI is a tool. Like any tool, it's only as good as the hands using it and the context behind it. Used well, it can create efficiencies. Used blindly, it can send you down a path that wastes your time, stalls your progress, and in some cases genuinely puts your health at risk." - Coach Jordanna

A woman in her mid-30s or 40s trying to figure out perimenopause, a complicated relationship with food, a demanding schedule, and a body that's changing faster than she expected doesn't need a faster algorithm. She needs a coach who knows her history, understands the science, and has the experience to know when to push and when to pull back.

If you've tried using AI for your fitness and it let you down, you're ready for something different. Head to getsculpted.ca/contact and tell them where you're at.

The unedited podcast transcript for this episode of the Get Sculpted podcast follows:

Jordanna [00:00:00 - 00:00:07]: [00:00:00] Welcome back to another episode of the Get Sculpted Podcast. [00:00:03] I'm Coach Jordana here with Coaches Marilyn and Tiana. [00:00:06] How are you girls?

Marilynn [00:00:07 - 00:00:08]: [00:00:07] We're good.

Tijana [00:00:08 - 00:00:08]: [00:00:08] How are you?

Marilynn [00:00:09 - 00:00:12]: [00:00:09] I just spoke for both of us. [00:00:10] I'm sorry. [00:00:10] We're good. [00:00:11] I'm good.

Tijana [00:00:12 - 00:00:12]: [00:00:12] We are good.

The Role of AI in Fitness

Jordanna [00:00:13 - 00:00:46]: [00:00:13] Amazing. [00:00:14] So today I'm actually like kind of excited for this conversation because when I was back in corporate, we were digging into a little bit of artificial intelligence even back then, but we are going to talk about AI and its relationship to fitness. [00:00:30] It is pretty much everywhere right now, not just in fitness, but fitness is no exception. [00:00:36] And you've probably seen it, like AI-generated meal plans, AI personal trainers, AI coaches even promising to give you a customized program in 30 seconds for free.

Marilynn [00:00:46 - 00:00:47]: [00:00:46] Yeah.

Jordanna [00:00:47 - 00:00:50]: [00:00:47] And look, we're not here to tell you AI's the enemy because it's not.

Tijana [00:00:50 - 00:00:51]: [00:00:50] No. [00:00:50] Mm-hmm.

Jordanna [00:00:51 - 00:01:27]: [00:00:51] We use it in our business very strategically and for certain reasons, and we're gonna talk about that honestly today too. [00:00:57] But we're also going to talk about where it is working against you, where it gets fitness dangerously wrong, and why no algorithm on the planet can replace what creates lasting transformation for women in their mid-30s and beyond. [00:01:12] So this is a conversation worth having because the technology's not going anywhere. [00:01:17] We need to adapt to it, but we need to know the good and the not so good and what to watch out for. [00:01:23] So let's talk about how to use it without letting it replace the things that matter the most.

Marilynn [00:01:27 - 00:01:27]: [00:01:27] Mm-hmm.

Jordanna [00:01:27 - 00:01:44]: [00:01:27] And what human interventions are still required. [00:01:30] So before we dive into this, I wanna bring you both in right away because I know you're both hearing things from clients about AI stuff too, or maybe in your chats and your DMs. [00:01:41] Like, what have you girls heard? [00:01:43] Anything of note?

Client Experiences with AI

Tijana [00:01:44 - 00:01:54]: [00:01:44] Well, here's the thing. [00:01:45] Sometimes I'm like, uh-oh, cuz clients will be like, I asked ChatGPT about it. [00:01:50] And I'm like, but then sometimes it is very helpful for leading you in the right direction.

Marilynn [00:01:54 - 00:01:54]: [00:01:54] Yeah.

Tijana [00:01:54 - 00:02:30]: [00:01:54] But where it's helpful is like, for example, I have a client who was noticing some pain in her glute and She was like, I put in my symptoms, ChatGPT, it said it was this. [00:02:02] And then I looked at it like with her and I was like, oh great, this is like super clear on like how I can help her program the right way. [00:02:08] And it kind of articulating what she was experiencing, but it didn't do the coaching for her. [00:02:13] And obviously without the right context of how to modify things, it doesn't mean anything. [00:02:17] Just like I use ChatGPT all the time for like my symptoms I have of something, but I'm not gonna replace my doctor with it. [00:02:23] So that's how I've noticed it. [00:02:24] Clients will kind of like, Put what they're feeling or thinking and it helps articulate. [00:02:28] And then obviously with our coaching, you can bridge the gap.

Marilynn [00:02:30 - 00:02:31]: [00:02:30] Kind of like a jumping off point.

Tijana [00:02:31 - 00:02:32]: [00:02:31] Yeah, exactly. [00:02:32] Yeah.

Jordanna [00:02:33 - 00:02:33]: [00:02:33] Gotcha.

Marilynn [00:02:33 - 00:02:33]: [00:02:33] Gotcha.

Tijana [00:02:33 - 00:02:33]: [00:02:33] How about you girls?

Marilynn [00:02:34 - 00:03:13]: [00:02:34] I've seen it more, to be honest, in like prospective clients, like women we speak to who are coming in to get sculpted because they'll say, yes, one of the things we do is we talk about dieting history, we talk about training history. [00:02:43] So they'll say things like, oh yeah, I had a ChatGPT meal plan, or I had a, you know, like ChatGPT workout program. [00:02:49] But here's what I'm gonna say, like, The reason we're having the conversation is because they're not making progress, and they're hitting a wall, and then they can't figure out why. [00:02:57] So, like, again, think about it. [00:02:58] If that AI-generated program is the holy grail, we wouldn't be having this conversation, right? [00:03:05] And the other thing I see too is where, like, they follow those things, but then they come to us thinking, like, they're the problem. [00:03:10] My body's broken, my metabolism's broken. [00:03:12] And I'm like, well, no.

Tijana [00:03:13 - 00:03:13]: [00:03:13] The strategy.

Marilynn [00:03:14 - 00:03:22]: [00:03:14] You just had a very generic plan that was not built for anything that has to do with your life or your body. [00:03:19] I'm seeing it more with the people who are not in our community yet.

Tijana [00:03:22 - 00:03:22]: [00:03:22] Me too.

Jordanna [00:03:23 - 00:03:46]: [00:03:23] That's why we're talking about it today, because we need to get clear on how it's going to potentially hurt or help your progress. [00:03:33] And then we're going to talk a little bit about how we've been integrating it a little bit inside of Get Sculpted. [00:03:39] And we're going to cover like the human element that no technology can replace in a coaching dynamic. [00:03:45] And so like, you girls ready to get into it?

Marilynn [00:03:47 - 00:03:48]: [00:03:47] Yeah, this is a good one.

Tijana [00:03:48 - 00:03:49]: [00:03:48] Yeah, let's go.

Where AI Hurts Your Progress

Jordanna [00:03:49 - 00:04:01]: [00:03:49] Okay, cool. [00:03:49] So first we're gonna talk about where AI hurts your progress. [00:03:54] And the real problem isn't that women are using AI. [00:03:56] The problem is that most women don't know what they don't know when they're using it.

Tijana [00:04:01 - 00:04:01]: [00:04:01] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:04:01 - 00:04:02]: [00:04:01] That's right.

Tijana [00:04:02 - 00:04:02]: [00:04:02] No context.

Jordanna [00:04:03 - 00:04:15]: [00:04:03] No context. [00:04:04] So a free AI-generated plan feels like some sort of solution for women. [00:04:08] They're like, oh, I'm hacking my way into it and I have something that I can follow and it's easy. [00:04:13] And this might be what a coach might give me anyway.

Tijana [00:04:15 - 00:04:16]: [00:04:15] Mm-hmm.

Jordanna [00:04:16 - 00:04:21]: [00:04:16] It uses words that sound right. [00:04:18] It looks like macros that look reasonable. [00:04:20] It sounds smart. [00:04:21] Right.

Tijana [00:04:21 - 00:04:23]: [00:04:21] Seems legit. [00:04:22] It seems logical. [00:04:23] Yeah. [00:04:23] Yeah.

Jordanna [00:04:23 - 00:04:59]: [00:04:23] But there's an enormous gap between something that looks correct and something that is correct. [00:04:28] And so, each one of us is gonna cover one aspect of that. [00:04:31] Okay? [00:04:32] So, the first one I'll cover is the context and accuracy problem. [00:04:35] So, AI tends to work from generalizations. [00:04:39] It doesn't know your injury history, your hormonal picture, your relationship with food. [00:04:44] your stress load or the fact that you've been yo-yo dieting for 15 years. [00:04:48] And for women in the demographic that we support the most, having perimenopause, that context is everything. [00:04:55] Like we need to have that as part of the story that we're building and how we support you.

Jordanna [00:05:00 - 00:05:11]: [00:05:00] And AI is confident even when it's wrong. [00:05:03] Like this is the scary thing, right? [00:05:04] It's like, absolutely you need to do this. [00:05:07] And you're like, are you sure? [00:05:08] And it's like 100% sure. [00:05:09] And you're like, it's the totally wrong thing.

Tijana [00:05:11 - 00:05:12]: [00:05:11] It did that to me this morning.

Jordanna [00:05:13 - 00:05:46]: [00:05:13] And it delivers it in a tone that sounds like really authoritative. [00:05:16] Even whether it's accurate or not. [00:05:18] And I think that's a little bit scary, so you have to take it with a grain of salt. [00:05:22] And nutrition advice generated by AI is really generic and generally incorrect. [00:05:29] So calorie targets, macro splits, supplement recommendations, these do require professional context. [00:05:36] And I, you know, warn you against using a prompt to help you get that support. [00:05:41] So, Mare, can you walk us through the training and physical side of the challenge here?

Training and Physical Challenges of AI

Marilynn [00:05:47 - 00:06:05]: [00:05:47] Yeah, definitely. [00:05:47] So on the programming side, like, again, just like you said, things that, you know, AI generates looks amazing on paper. [00:05:53] You're like, wow, like it's telling me how many sets, what exercises, how many repetitions, da da da. [00:05:57] But like, it's really missing some of the most important, like fundamental parts of effective strength training, one of which is progressive overload logic.

Jordanna [00:06:05 - 00:06:05]: [00:06:05] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:06:06 - 00:06:40]: [00:06:06] Okay. [00:06:06] So AI will give you a list of exercises and sets and reps, but it's not really gonna give you a thoughtful progression. [00:06:12] It can't tell you Things like when it's appropriate to deload. [00:06:16] It can't periodize around your actual life. [00:06:18] And it's these like small nuances that actually build your strength, your body, and also do all that safely over time. [00:06:26] The other part of this is form, right? [00:06:28] Like form cannot be corrected by AI. [00:06:31] We all have movement patterns, compensations, muscle imbalances that requires human eye. [00:06:37] So that is the big difference between someone getting results and getting injured.

Marilynn [00:06:41 - 00:07:04]: [00:06:41] And this is why I'm also very proud of what we've built at Get Sculpted, because we have a real human with eyeballs who's an amazing professional, our in-house movement specialist, Francesca, who assesses all of these things for our clients and with our clients. [00:06:55] Because AI, like, you know, when I watch the videos and I watch the live form checks that she does with our clients, she will say like the small nuanced things that sometimes I even have to rewind and go, what? [00:07:03] What?

Jordanna [00:07:04 - 00:07:04]: [00:07:04] Mm-hmm.

Marilynn [00:07:04 - 00:07:15]: [00:07:04] Like, you know, she'll see like your hips shifting or she'll see compensations, she'll see your toes lifting. [00:07:09] Like things like that that no AI is gonna give you like context for, right? [00:07:14] T, you were gonna say something?

Tijana [00:07:15 - 00:07:32]: [00:07:15] Yeah. [00:07:16] The one thing that I heard that was so eye-opening about AI is that it takes the average of everything out there on the internet and gives you that. [00:07:23] And like, it's gonna give you a basic B workout. [00:07:26] But again, I don't know about you, but when I've seen this AI workouts, it always pumps out the same freaking exercises.

Jordanna [00:07:32 - 00:07:32]: [00:07:32] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:07:32 - 00:07:33]: [00:07:32] Yeah.

Tijana [00:07:33 - 00:07:48]: [00:07:33] It's, it loves planks. [00:07:34] It's like, shut up with the planks, please. [00:07:37] Like, Again, this is where like exactly what you said earlier, you think, oh, this is giving me progressive overload. [00:07:42] Is it the right, most effective exercises? [00:07:44] It's giving you very meh exercises. [00:07:46] It's giving you C-tier exercises.

Jordanna [00:07:48 - 00:07:48]: [00:07:48] Exactly.

Marilynn [00:07:48 - 00:07:51]: [00:07:48] Yes, for sure. [00:07:50] So, T, would you take us through the third one?

Accountability and the Human Element

Tijana [00:07:52 - 00:08:19]: [00:07:52] Yes. [00:07:52] So this is important, accountability. [00:07:53] So I saw a reel yesterday, which I don't know where I saw it, but it was something talking about like coaching will never be replaced. [00:08:00] And it was like someone like hugging and crying with their coach or something, and it just really demonstrated to me, like coaching in general, yes, there's accountability. [00:08:09] And I wanna talk about that. [00:08:10] Like you can't get the same accountability with AI because number one, it's like I have this plan and even if this AI bot messages me, like, I don't, this is a bot. [00:08:17] Like I'm gonna close my phone, close my computer.

Marilynn [00:08:19 - 00:08:19]: [00:08:19] Yeah.

Tijana [00:08:19 - 00:08:24]: [00:08:19] I don't know what they do nowadays. [00:08:20] Maybe they do set you reminders or whatever, but that's not the same thing as having that human connection.

Jordanna [00:08:24 - 00:08:25]: [00:08:24] Yeah.

Tijana [00:08:25 - 00:08:31]: [00:08:25] And I've actually found that people are craving that more than ever because we've become so distant with working from home and After COVID, right?

Marilynn [00:08:31 - 00:08:32]: [00:08:31] And technology.

Tijana [00:08:32 - 00:09:04]: [00:08:32] Exactly. [00:08:33] So that's what I always tell people in our coaching program is like, you're coming in, it's like, hey, are we fricking awesome at like the training and nutrition? [00:08:40] Yeah. [00:08:41] Are we going to give you a great plan? [00:08:42] Absolutely. [00:08:42] But it's not like that's what makes us so special in this. [00:08:45] It's that we're leading you to change and giving you it in the right way that's appropriate for you, number one. [00:08:51] But also it's the fact that like a lot of the time it's like the thing on paper isn't your problem. [00:08:56] There is that, right? [00:08:57] Like you need the right thing on paper, but Once you have that, it's also like what you're doing now is not the lifestyle of someone who is your 2.0.

Jordanna [00:09:04 - 00:09:05]: [00:09:04] Yep.

Marilynn [00:09:05 - 00:09:05]: [00:09:05] That's right.

Tijana [00:09:05 - 00:09:08]: [00:09:05] And that coaching bridges that gap and leads you to that change.

Marilynn [00:09:08 - 00:09:08]: [00:09:08] That's right.

Tijana [00:09:08 - 00:09:17]: [00:09:08] And I know for a fact that will never be replaced. [00:09:11] And whenever people are like, ooh, AI's coming for your job, I'm like, yeah, for the people who are looking for just a bot to follow. [00:09:17] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:09:17 - 00:09:17]: [00:09:17] It's a quick fix.

Tijana [00:09:17 - 00:09:19]: [00:09:17] I'm not, I'm not looking for those people. [00:09:19] Yep, exactly.

Jordanna [00:09:20 - 00:09:48]: [00:09:20] I was listening to the Diary of a CEO and he had on somebody who is like very big in AI. [00:09:26] And he used to work at Google and they were talking about like the likelihood, the perspective of what's gonna happen in like 2 years, but also what's gonna be like 10, 20 years from now. [00:09:37] And what's really interesting is like the thing that AI, even the most advanced AIs, they can't take away or they can't replace lived experience. [00:09:46] And so, and like the emotional connection.

Tijana [00:09:48 - 00:09:49]: [00:09:48] Exactly.

Jordanna [00:09:49 - 00:10:17]: [00:09:49] So even if, you know, AI can do so many of the elements of what one day what a coach might be able to do today or does Mm-hmm. [00:09:59] They cannot replace the connection. [00:10:01] They cannot replace of like, I've lived that experience that you are living and here's how I navigated that. [00:10:07] Like, you just can't do it. [00:10:08] So it's like really interesting. [00:10:09] I think there is a way to like bridge it together eventually, and accountability and lived experience is gonna be the differentiator in the future.

Marilynn [00:10:17 - 00:10:18]: [00:10:17] Couldn't agree more.

Tijana [00:10:18 - 00:10:30]: [00:10:18] Exactly. [00:10:19] And that's actually a really, really good distinction, Jord, to segue into where AI actually helps. [00:10:24] and how we use it personally, because we do use it, right? [00:10:26] We're not saying that it's bad. [00:10:28] Here's the thing, like there's no shame in that either, you know?

Marilynn [00:10:30 - 00:10:30]: [00:10:30] No.

Tijana [00:10:30 - 00:10:35]: [00:10:30] Like there's certain instances where like we can all tell whose posts are written by AI, by the way.

Marilynn [00:10:35 - 00:10:35]: [00:10:35] Yeah.

Tijana [00:10:35 - 00:10:47]: [00:10:35] I've seen these coaches, so-called, and I'm not naming any names, but I'm like, you don't even know what you're talking about and you're putting random stuff into AI. [00:10:42] But anyway, when you know what you're talking about and what you're doing, it helps profoundly consolidate your time and make you more efficient.

Marilynn [00:10:47 - 00:10:47]: [00:10:47] Yeah.

How Coaches Use AI Effectively

Tijana [00:10:47 - 00:11:05]: [00:10:47] So why don't we all share like how we're using it? [00:10:50] And I think that's gonna be helpful. [00:10:52] How I use it, which on the programming side of things, I found this super, super helpful. [00:10:56] Making your own GPT has been a game changer. [00:10:58] So, like, I've obviously made a ton of my own programs over the years, and I have certain principles that we all follow, right?

Marilynn [00:11:05 - 00:11:05]: [00:11:05] Yeah.

Tijana [00:11:05 - 00:11:37]: [00:11:05] But, like, you know, certain lifts that are more optimal in general for, like, the glutes and the quads and, like, this type of equipment. [00:11:11] And when you have free weights and when you have this much training experience, when you have long femurs, like, general rest periods, like, I fed it so much of this. [00:11:18] And then I've also, I love the voice, like the dictation. [00:11:22] So I'll talk to my ChatGPT, be like, I am gonna design a training program for like X training phase. [00:11:27] This is gonna be the bias. [00:11:28] I want you to include these lifts. [00:11:30] And bam, it'll put onto paper everything that like I program and that I say based on my style. [00:11:36] I love programming so much.

Tijana [00:11:37 - 00:11:39]: [00:11:37] I'm like, this would've taken me hours and hours.

Marilynn [00:11:39 - 00:11:39]: [00:11:39] Yeah.

Tijana [00:11:39 - 00:11:41]: [00:11:39] And now it's taking minutes, which is incredible. [00:11:41] So.

Jordanna [00:11:42 - 00:11:46]: [00:11:42] And you're still, I'm certain of this cuz I know you, you are still refining it.

Marilynn [00:11:46 - 00:11:46]: [00:11:46] 100%.

Jordanna [00:11:46 - 00:12:00]: [00:11:46] You're not just taking the output and being like, this is the program. [00:11:48] It's like, Here's the baseline of where we start based on how AI interprets all of my best knowledge and then brings it out as a suggestion, and then you iterate off of that.

Tijana [00:12:01 - 00:12:06]: [00:12:01] Exactly. [00:12:02] Again, it's, you still need that trained eye, but it saves tons of time for the skeleton of it. [00:12:06] How about you, Maryam?

Marilynn [00:12:07 - 00:12:20]: [00:12:07] Well, I was just going to say before I go into how I use it, I think that's the big key though, is like, T, you don't just be like, write me a program. [00:12:13] You have fed it like years worth of things that you've already done. [00:12:17] It's almost, almost like AI's leveraging you in that case.

Jordanna [00:12:20 - 00:12:20]: [00:12:20] Yes.

Marilynn [00:12:21 - 00:13:11]: [00:12:21] You know, your knowledge and your expertise and everything you fed to it, and you're just refining, which makes it a time saver, right? [00:12:27] And that's why for us also, like I can speak for all of us, we use it on like the operational and administrative side of things. [00:12:33] Like as a business owner, it has actually saved so much time for like behind the scenes work, but it's all stuff that has nothing to do with coaching, right? [00:12:41] So like I'll use it for summarizing information, organizing templates, different Yes. [00:12:46] Systems, things like that. [00:12:47] But when it comes to like assessment, programming, nutrition, all of that, that has to be people, not AI, right? [00:12:54] Because everything we do starts with us looking at the entire individual. [00:12:58] So, T, you actually, this is such a perfect explanation. [00:13:00] Like, think of how you're using it. [00:13:02] Could I really sit there and be like, all right, I'm going to tell you about the last like 46 years of this woman that I'm working with? [00:13:08] I'm not going to do that. [00:13:09] So, that AI will never have the full context.

Marilynn [00:13:11 - 00:13:24]: [00:13:11] Of her history, her body, what she's been through, what she's currently going through. [00:13:16] So I'd say like, it's great for like administrative organization. [00:13:19] I love that for us, but not for like the nuance of actually working with clients. [00:13:24] What about you, Jord?

Jordanna [00:13:25 - 00:14:50]: [00:13:25] Yeah, I agree. [00:13:26] I think for me it's about finding efficiencies where it might've taken me hours to, let's say, brainstorm for even our podcast. [00:13:35] Like we get a lot of like brainstorming done leveraging I am really loving Claude, but like, that's one area that I use it for is brainstorming, which is huge, researching things, and then finding efficiency. [00:13:48] So even like comparing past content that I've shared to current content that I've written, why something performed a certain way where it didn't, or how I've delivered something, um, you know, even why somebody said yes or no to becoming a client, like taking the call that I've done and been like, where did I go wrong? [00:14:09] Or how could this conversation have gone differently? [00:14:11] Or what questions might I have missed that, you know, might have helped this person even more? [00:14:16] And I think that that's how we're going to be leveraging AI in the future. [00:14:21] It's really a blend between finding efficiencies, doing the right research, brainstorming operations, the kind of things, and then leaving the coach with their lived experience and expertise to be the one to make the final call and deliver. [00:14:37] the system and deliver that experience to the client. [00:14:41] And that's, that's, I think, what is the nicest blend that I'm seeing so far. [00:14:46] And so let's like dive a little deeper into that human element, Mare.

The Irreplaceable Human Element

Jordanna [00:14:50 - 00:14:54]: [00:14:50] Like, can you talk us through like what that actually might look like more deeply?

Marilynn [00:14:55 - 00:15:12]: [00:14:55] Like you touched on this. [00:14:56] So like, I do want to talk about like our lived experience as coaches and also the relationship, but that's the keyword. [00:15:01] It's a relationship. [00:15:02] Okay. [00:15:02] So when I think about the coaching, I also think about the women who have been with us, and we talked about this on our last episode about like deficit phase, maintenance phase. [00:15:09] So like some of our clients are with us quite literally for years.

Jordanna [00:15:12 - 00:15:12]: [00:15:12] Mm-hmm.

Marilynn [00:15:12 - 00:15:22]: [00:15:12] So that relationship is built over years, not weeks or months. [00:15:17] And there's a certain amount of like trust and pattern recognition that, that we start to recognize, right?

Tijana [00:15:22 - 00:15:22]: [00:15:22] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:15:22 - 00:16:00]: [00:15:22] So, you know, we start to know the nuances of our clients. [00:15:25] Like how do they behave when they're stressed? [00:15:27] Like when this particular stressor comes up, what excuses do they default to? [00:15:31] Like what motivates them? [00:15:32] What shuts them down? [00:15:33] Again, none of that can exist through AI. [00:15:36] The other thing is like when you think about it, the algorithm resets every time you open a new chat. [00:15:39] So if I'm talking to my, you know, AI about a particular client, the next time it's like the context goes to zero. [00:15:46] It's almost like I'm starting from scratch every conversation. [00:15:49] That's not coaching, right? [00:15:51] And real coaching, when you think about the relationship, it means knowing when to kind of call your client up and when to pull back, right? [00:15:59] Like we have to know.

Tijana [00:16:01 - 00:16:01]: [00:16:01] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:16:01 - 00:16:36]: [00:16:01] The difference between the tone of voice we use with our clients and how we deliver the information. [00:16:06] For some clients, they respond more to like tough love. [00:16:08] They need that, or they need it in some situations and not others. [00:16:11] Sometimes they need extra understanding depending on what's going on in their life. [00:16:15] So we pick up on those things and AI cannot, like, you know, like if, if a client's like, yeah, I'm, I'm fine, but they're ghosting you and they're not checking in and they're not, they're not fine. [00:16:24] Like we know that AI's not gonna find that, right? [00:16:26] So that's the intuition that we build through years of working with women. [00:16:30] That AI cannot do. [00:16:32] And then, George, you said this, and I think it is the most important thing, lived experience.

Tijana [00:16:36 - 00:16:36]: [00:16:36] Mm-hmm.

Marilynn [00:16:36 - 00:16:59]: [00:16:36] Like, think about this, right? [00:16:37] Like, the 3 of us, we are coaches, but we have also been clients. [00:16:41] We have been on our own transformation journeys. [00:16:44] We continue to be on our own journeys. [00:16:46] That context, the work we've done, all of that benefits the women we work with so much, right? [00:16:52] The women we work with are unique. [00:16:54] They have histories. [00:16:55] We have histories. [00:16:56] They have like complex hormonal profiles. [00:16:58] So do we.

Marilynn [00:16:59 - 00:17:22]: [00:16:59] Mm-hmm. [00:16:59] So all of these things mean that we get to help them on a deeper level than AI ever will. [00:17:04] And another thing that we always talk about too is like cookie cutter programs. [00:17:07] That doesn't cut it for women. [00:17:09] It's never worked. [00:17:11] And if you think about it, AI is kind of like a very sophisticated cookie cutter because it, while it looks personal, it might feel personal underneath, it is like a generalized output. [00:17:20] Like you said, it's, it's speaking to the general population, right?

Jordanna [00:17:22 - 00:17:22]: [00:17:22] Yeah.

Tijana [00:17:23 - 00:17:30]: [00:17:23] I'm realizing like, what's the point of like living life so disconnected from people? [00:17:27] Like, isn't that, not to get all philosophical, but isn't that kind of like—

Marilynn [00:17:30 - 00:17:31]: [00:17:30] No, no, no. [00:17:31] It's true though.

Tijana [00:17:31 - 00:17:49]: [00:17:31] Like if I'm spending my time and money in my life, like why would I just wanna be as disconnected from people as possible? [00:17:37] You know? [00:17:38] Like I don't wanna take the, yeah, the cheapest, most hands-off path. [00:17:41] Right. [00:17:41] It's like, that's kind of my mindset is like, I want the path where I feel supported and connected and like, it's not just about the destination, it's about the journey. [00:17:49] Like, that's important.

Jordanna [00:17:49 - 00:17:50]: [00:17:49] Absolutely.

Marilynn [00:17:50 - 00:17:59]: [00:17:50] I think I've mentioned this before on the podcast that like, you know, cuz we all love therapy. [00:17:54] Therapy is cool. [00:17:55] Mm-hmm. [00:17:55] But my therapist has said that like, as women, we are living in like an epidemic of loneliness.

Tijana [00:17:59 - 00:17:59]: [00:17:59] Oh yeah.

Marilynn [00:17:59 - 00:18:28]: [00:17:59] Our default is often to like retreat and like, you know, not kind of reach out for the people and the things in our lives to help us. [00:18:07] So we're feeling more disconnected than ever. [00:18:09] And I've never been able to like help myself out of something cuz you're in your own mind. [00:18:13] So it's like your community, your coaches, that becomes your lifeline. [00:18:17] The other day, my therapist actually said that to me. [00:18:19] She's like, 'cause I was boasting about our Get Sculpted community, and she's like, you know, do you believe in community? [00:18:24] I was like, of course I do, look. [00:18:25] And she's like, but do you also look for community elsewhere?

Jordanna [00:18:28 - 00:18:28]: [00:18:28] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:18:29 - 00:18:55]: [00:18:29] Like, not just in your fitness space. [00:18:30] And it made me think, it's like, okay, like, where do I actually seek the support of other women? [00:18:34] So, we always say that transformation does not happen in isolation. [00:18:38] Transformation happens in relationships. [00:18:40] So, this is why community is another layer of this, other women who will see you, encourage you, support you, and they have their lived experience that you can also leverage. [00:18:50] And again, no AI can give you a community and a coach that is gonna go that deep with you.

Jordanna [00:18:55 - 00:18:55]: [00:18:55] Yeah.

Marilynn [00:18:55 - 00:19:07]: [00:18:55] I, I truly believe that that is one of the biggest differentiators. [00:18:58] So, T, I would love if you could maybe chat with us now about the mindset and behavior side, cuz there's, you know, a big part of that that AI will never be able to reach either.

Mindset and Behavior Change

Tijana [00:19:08 - 00:19:47]: [00:19:08] Exactly. [00:19:08] I think we covered a lot of this, so like, I'm gonna wrap it in a pretty bow by saying like, It is about behavior change, like with getting to that 2.0 version of yourself. [00:19:17] It's not that you just don't have this magic secret knowledge. [00:19:20] And again, part of it is too, like where AI can be helpful to guide you in the right direction. [00:19:25] That's another thing I will give it, right? [00:19:26] So a lot of the people that we speak with, a lot of the women, they'll have like the right concept down of like, you know, I, I think I need more muscle, or I think I'm not eating enough. [00:19:33] I think, but this is really where you bridge that gap of like, okay, now here's what that looks like for you. [00:19:39] Or you might have that self-awareness, but it's the behavior change that needs to happen, quite frankly. [00:19:44] So, it's like emotional eating, stress eating, mindless eating.

Tijana [00:19:47 - 00:20:38]: [00:19:47] It's not discipline. [00:19:49] Often, it's strategy, but it's also having that background info of why that's happening for you, right? [00:19:55] That's where the right strategy comes into place. [00:19:57] And I think the most important thing that I will say is the identity piece. [00:20:01] So, if you are the the type of person who is living in your 1.0 right now, right? [00:20:06] Like sporadically eating, randomly drinking and eating out. [00:20:10] You're skipping your meals. [00:20:11] Like that is not you lacking like the, oh, oh, I know I should be eating more protein. [00:20:17] It's not, it's not that. [00:20:18] It's like, how do I put myself in the best possible position to become the type of person who is regimented, training the right way, lifting heavy, showing up that way? [00:20:27] And how do you like really stack that momentum? [00:20:30] Because for our community, it's Being in that group of women where like, we all paid to be here too, right? [00:20:35] It's like we all raised our hand and said, yes, I wanna level up.

Tijana [00:20:38 - 00:20:51]: [00:20:38] And now you're with these women, they're all doing it. [00:20:40] You're seeing them doing it and you are a product of that environment. [00:20:43] Yeah. [00:20:43] And that's something that like, it's just not gonna happen for 99.9% of people by just like being glued to an app, even if that strategy's leading you in the right direction.

Marilynn [00:20:51 - 00:20:53]: [00:20:51] Yeah. [00:20:52] Agreed. [00:20:53] I love that.

Tijana [00:20:53 - 00:20:54]: [00:20:53] Would you guys add anything?

Jordanna [00:20:54 - 00:20:55]: [00:20:54] No, I think you nailed it.

Tijana [00:20:55 - 00:21:23]: [00:20:55] Yeah. [00:20:56] Awesome. [00:20:57] And, and again, we wanna invite you here because if you're like, Yeah, I've been doing the self-guided. [00:21:01] I've been doing self-guided for years. [00:21:03] My body's not changing, but also I'm not leveling up. [00:21:05] Put yourself in that environment 'cause our members not only get a lot out of working with us, you know, from like the tactics, the coaching, all that, they get a lot from each other. [00:21:14] And that's just not what you're gonna get self-guided. [00:21:16] So head to getsculpted.ca/contact, tell us about you, and we will personally reach out and walk you through what your success path would be.

Tijana [00:21:24 - 00:21:25]: [00:21:24] George, take us home.

Wrap Up and Takeaways

Jordanna [00:21:25 - 00:21:58]: [00:21:25] Amazing. [00:21:26] Let's let this all land for a second. [00:21:27] Like, AI is a tool. [00:21:29] Like any tool, it's only as good as the hands using it and the context behind it. [00:21:35] Used well, it can create efficiencies, spark ideas, support the backend of even a business. [00:21:41] But used blindly, it can send you down a path that wastes your time, stalls your progress, and in some cases genuinely can put your health at risk. [00:21:49] So here's what I want you to take away from today. [00:21:51] If you're using AI for fitness inspiration, for recipe ideas, for general curiosity, Go ahead, like have fun with it.

Jordanna [00:21:58 - 00:23:17]: [00:21:58] Like by all means, I would challenge you to like ask, can Google do the same thing? [00:22:04] Like why do you need the AI to do that for you? [00:22:07] Because you're, you're asking more general questions, but if you're relying on it for the levels deeper, like programming your nutrition strategy, even like accountability or behavior change things, you're missing the most important ingredient in your transformation, and that's the human one. [00:22:24] And a woman in their mid-30s and beyond trying to navigate perimenopause, complicated relationships with food, a demanding career, family, all the things that help her want to level up, and a body that's changing faster than she expected. [00:22:37] Like, we don't need a faster algorithm, right, to support us. [00:22:42] We need a coach who can see her fully, knows her history, understands the science, and has the experience to know how and when to push. [00:22:51] And when to hold space for her. [00:22:54] And that's what we built at Get Sculpted. [00:22:56] Like, that's what we do, and that's how we show up for the women in our community every single day. [00:23:02] So if today's conversation made something click for you and you are ready to stop outsourcing your transformation to a chatbot and start working with a team that's fully invested behind you— I love how you framed that up, T— come find us, getsculpted.ca/contact.

Marilynn [00:23:18 - 00:23:20]: [00:23:18] We would love to be The humans in your corner.

Jordanna [00:23:21 - 00:23:37]: [00:23:21] And on that note, if this resonated with you, please share it with a friend because this is a thing that's not going away in our world and we should all be thinking about it and how we use it. [00:23:31] And we will see you next week when we're discussing how to bring sexy back, discovering your personal style.

Marilynn [00:23:38 - 00:23:38]: [00:23:38] Woo-hoo!

Jordanna [00:23:38 - 00:23:40]: [00:23:38] And that's gonna be a super fun episode. [00:23:40] So chat then. [00:23:40] Bye.
