What Comes After Fat Loss That Changes Everything

You hit your fat loss goal — now what? Learn how to build more muscle after fat loss, boost your metabolism, and finally stop maintaining and start elevating on this episode of Get Sculpted.

If you've crushed your fat loss goals, built some muscle, and you're consistent at the gym, but you're standing there thinking, "Okay, now what?", this episode is for you. Not another cut or another round of the same thing. This is the part most women never get to talk about: what comes after the fat loss phase, and why building more muscle after fat loss is where everything gets good.

In Part 3 of their series on the Strength Sculpting System, Coaches Tijana, Marilynn, and Jordanna are breaking down the Elevation Phase, the stage where fat loss becomes your foundation, not your finish line. This is where you stop maintaining and start mastering. Where you go from "I just want to lose weight" to "holy crap, look what my body can do." Where strength training for women stops being about burning calories and starts being about building a body and a life you're genuinely proud of.

Here's what we cover:

  • Why women who stop after fat loss are leaving the best part on the table, and what it looks like to keep raising the bar once you've hit your goal

  • What the Elevation Phase is, who it's for, and why it's not about becoming a bodybuilder, but becoming the most capable, confident version of yourself

  • The real science behind why building more muscle increases your metabolism, and why "I think I have enough muscle" is never true

  • Why muscle is the organ of longevity, how it improves insulin sensitivity and mitochondrial density, and what that means for women over 40 who want to stay strong and healthy for decades

  • How training in the Elevation Phase gets more sophisticated, carb timing, lift-specific warmups, training splits, targeting weaker areas, improving symmetry, and why none of that is possible without the foundation phases first

  • Why women with a slow metabolism almost always just don't have enough muscle, and how building more of it changes everything about how your body processes food

  • The performance and aesthetic goals real clients are hitting in this phase: unassisted pull-ups, deadlifting twice their bodyweight, photo shoots, Hyrox, marathons, and more

  • The mindset shift that separates women who stop after fat loss from those who elevate: letting go of shrinking yourself and starting to take up serious space

  • Why fitness spills over into every area of your life, the 8-hour hikes, the 90 stairs in Amalfi, the airport sprint, the move you didn't need help with, and why none of that is luck

  • What it feels like when fitness stops being punishment and becomes your identity: the gym is somewhere you want to be, food is fuel you're not afraid of, and the scale is just one data point among many

  • Why you're never done growing, and why the women who thrive long-term are the ones who keep raising their own bar

This episode is for the woman who's already done the hard work, who lost the weight, built the base, and is ready to find out what she's capable of. You didn't come this far just to coast. You came to keep going.

“Your body is an ally, not an obstacle. Not something you have to overcome and fight all the time, it's something you can work with and support. And the more you tune in and listen, the better the results will become.” -Coach Jordanna

The unedited podcast transcript for this episode of the Get Sculpted podcast follows:

Elevation Phase—Strength Sculpting System Part 3

Tijana [00:00:00]: Hello and welcome back to the Get Sculpted podcast. I'm really excited here with my fellow co-hosts Jordana and Marilynn because we are doing part 3 of our series of our Strength Sculpting System, and we're gonna talk about the elevation phase. ... This is really when we get to craft that fine detail, painting with a fine brush, where you create and define your new 2.0 self… [Full intro and overview of how clients’ goals change and evolve as they progress through the system.]

STRENGTH SCULPTING SYSTEM RECAP: Foundation, Empowerment & Elevation

Tijana [00:02:08]: Now we're gonna define in this phase, what does next level sculpted look like for you? ... Make sure that you listen to the other episodes as well, cuz it's gonna make a lot more sense. So the first phase of our, uh, Strength Sculpting System is the foundation phase… We build the habits, we build the consistency, learn about training intensity, fuel your body to coax the fat off, and then move into Empowerment, where you build more strength, increase calories/metabolic capacity, and train at higher intensity.

Once clients hit these base milestones, they ask: what's next? The answer is the Elevation phase—fine-tuning performance, building more muscle/shape, and solidifying a lasting athletic identity.

ELEVATION PHASE: Moving from Maintenance to Mastery

Marilynn [00:03:53]: I think this is super exciting because for a lot of you listening, you might not even realize that this phase was an option for you because again, so many women have lived in that dieting phase…

Women in elevation have a strong base and consistency. Training now focuses on performance numbers, refining physique, and living in a body that can perform. Eating more food without fear, fueling training—becomes a non-negotiable.

Emotionally, the elevation phase is where fitness becomes enjoyment and empowerment, not punishment. Identity shifts to “I want to be stronger, more defined, capable,” and the gym becomes a place of pride—not guilt.

SCIENCE BEHIND MUSCLE GROWTH & LONGEVITY

Tijana [00:07:10]: Everything we're doing all the time for the rest of our lives is building more muscle… You will never have “too much” muscle, and most women are nowhere close to training heavy enough for true mastery. Muscle increases metabolism, improves physique, enhances NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis), metabolic flexibility, and is your best defense against insulin resistance and metabolic diseases.

Building muscle takes years—so setting realistic standards (not the Instagram highlight reel) is crucial.

LEVELING UP: Personalized Goals & Identity Transformation

Jordanna [00:11:18]: Now it's time to level up. Everyone’s level up is unique—a personal journey. Training becomes more specialized—splits, lift-specific warmups, advanced mobility work, targeting weak areas, building symmetry, improving form and mind-muscle connection. Conversations with clients shift from basics to “How are we growing? What are we elevating?” Mastery—not just consistency—is the finish line, and that athletic identity spills over into all areas of life.

GOAL SETTING IN ELEVATION: Performance, Aesthetic, & Lifestyle

Jordanna [00:14:00]: We work with clients on three types of goals:

  • Performance goals: unassisted pull-ups, squatting/hip thrusting 1.5-2x bodyweight, running races, athletic competitions.
  • Aesthetic goals: photo shoots, competitions, building glutes, achieving hourglass shape, back definition, symmetry.
  • Lifestyle goals: climbing Machu Picchu, portaging, windsurfing, skiing, mountain races—being powerful and capable through life, at any age.
  • This phase unlocks new possibilities and confidence—clients live lives they never imagined, stepping fully into their athletic identity.

MINDSET SHIFTS: From Fat Loss to Continuous Growth

Tijana [00:22:34]: What separates women who stop at fat loss from those who move into elevation? It's the refusal to coast or be stagnant—raising standards, always striving for more power and strength, breaking from “shrink” mentality, and embracing that fat loss is only the foundation, not the end.

[Evolution into mastery, willingness to be coachable and challenge themselves, embracing “what if?” rather than settling.]

BUILDING MUSCLE FOR DAILY LIFE: Physical & Mental Benefits

Tijana [00:25:07]: Building muscle changes everything: Feeling physically strong (karate, hiking, sprinting for flights, picking up kids)—life becomes easier and more enjoyable. Muscle grants freedom: eat more, recover better, handle daily demands, and unlock confidence you carry everywhere. Stories from hosts (hiking Hawaii, carrying luggage in Italy, helping move homes) illustrate real-life impact. This isn’t luck—it’s muscle built day in, day out.

TAKE ACTION: Elevate Your Training, Nutrition & Goals

Tijana [00:29:01]: Elevation is where everything comes together: strength, aesthetics, confidence. Muscle gives you freedom—to live without fear of food, to experience life deeply. If you’ve hit fat loss and built momentum, don’t just settle for maintenance—set bigger goals, refine your sculpting, and paint your own masterpiece.
